This year, the historical Mexicobridges in the heart of the Antwerp harbour in Belgium, were removed entirely for a thorough renovation.

The Mexicobridge construction consists of a western and an eastern bridge right in the heart of Antwerp's beautiful centre. |

After measuring the steelconstruction in-situ, both the upper- and subfloors were newly produced by Hupkes Houthandel. Both Mexico bridges contain 55m3 FSC®-certified timber in 90 different wooden parts. Alle parts were sawn, planed, partly pre-drilled and CNC-processed. The largest wooden parts are 440mm wide and 7,50 meters long. Part of the decking is fitted with an epoxy anti-slip surface-profile.
